I'm very glad to be, too!

Re: Overgrowth on linux

Marcus wrote:Better just wait for the native Linux client then.
I'm pretty sure they're working a little on it at the moment.
What leads you to the conclusion that they're working on a native Linux client?
I doubt they are. It will most likely happen at the end of development.

Re: Overgrowth on linux

In case anyone missed it, there's an encouraging note at the end of the a117 weekly build release stating the following: Note! No Linux support at the moment -- we are waiting on Awesomium for these. AJS says that Linux support is on the horizon, but we cannot make any concrete estimates for it. In ...

Re: What announcement would make you so happy?

Linux native build.

I was actually waiting for that to pre-order, but decided to pre-order now figuring they could use my support with the Mac App Store BS.

The matrix mod is awesome? Umm, sorry, but it is NOT awesome, it only became good when I tweaked it by making the ground and blocks matrix-style, added matrix symbol snow, and made the sky black. sorry, but matrix clothing and matrix fire and greenish (I think) smoke and nothing else isn't really t...

You do realise that it has to be 16(?) FPS before the human eye sees it as a moving picture so that would be constant lag. 30fps I think, google it :P theblob is correct... Cartoons are typically below 20 FPS. Movies in the theater are 24 - 25 FPS. Analog TV is a hair under 30 FPS. HDTV is 60 FPS. ...

Maybe, but I sure hope you can!

I get segfaults on older 3D games that aren't compiled for newer libraries. Perhaps that's the problem here?

It's probably either the video card drivers or bad ram. ATI is known for crappy drivers. I currently have an ATI Radeon 9000 Pro 128 and I run Ubuntu Linux 5.10 Breezy Badger, so I know how crappy they are. In fact, when I was helping to beta test Lugaru, I came across this issue: https://bugzilla.i...

I have a terrible computer-I just turn everything down and voila! A nice 5-10 FPS is good enough for anybody. Although I'm sure you're just being a smart-ass, if you look again at my post you'll see that I typed "<5 FPS" which means less-than 5 FPS. If you weren't just being a smart-ass, ...

Why is DOS even on there? DOS was decent for its time. There were some good games on DOS. DOOM 1 & 2, Heretic, Hexen, Quake (first one), Descent series, Syndicate, SimCity, Abuse, etc., etc. A lot of things are the way they are today because of DOS, both good and bad... The modern consumer-avai...

I just beat Lugaru on Insane mode and found a very simple and effective way to defeat wolves if you have a sword... Might work even without the sword, but I had one. :) Lure them out so you can fight one-on-one, then just jump and flip over their head a few times to confuse them, then time a jump to...

Entering registration key erases all game progress

Hi, I recently re-installed Windows XP Pro and the first game I installed was Lugaru (mostly because I wanted to test OpenGL and EA's Battlefield games, the only other games I play in Windows, are huge). After testing OpenGL with a couple rounds of Lugaru, I went on and installed more stuff and forg...

will it run on zeta, AKA BeOS R6? It should be easy to port it. This game could turn into the biggest, best game for all OSes! :D  :D I talked with Eugenia Loli-Query (she used to work on the BeOS team and started OSNews.com) about the possibility of porting Lugaru to BeOS. She said it would...

I didn't do anything scientific, but I did observe that Lugaru seems to run a lot quicker and smoother in Linux.
