Re: A New Campaign!
I was contacted by MCMic who is trying to gather free assets for open-source Lugaru projects. He would like a precise statement about the license of the Temple campaign, so here it is: Everything in the Temple campaign is free under the creative commons license , without need for attribution. This c...

Short Lugaru video
Hey guys, the success of the Bundle and Lugaru have inspired me to record this short video. It shows some of what you can do once you know the game well. Sorry for the terrible quality, I was short on time. There are lots of neat tricks if you pay attention though! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJu...

Re: Dialogues/Campaigns
Hex-editing dialogues has got to work, the files are the same on Mac and PC. It does require a lot of patience though. Begin by editing the text first without changing the length, then graduate to changing string lengths, sound and color, etc; swapping camera angles comes last. See the link I posted...

Re: Dialogues
Lotus Wolf, your dialogue file works fine on my computer, so I guess dialogues are buggy in your version of Lugaru. Vib Rib and others had the same problem.
If you want to edit dialogues with a hex editor, see here.

Re: Infrastructure
The same issues sometimes happen with objects of type "cool". The issues disappear when you save and load the level from a file though; they only last while the level is freshly created. Maybe it's the same?

Re: Freely win a free copy of Overgrowth FOR FREE!
I'm down with making a cool video sometime next week when I have more time.
Lotus Wolf by the way I am totally going to steal some of your weapons.

Re: Lugaru:Empire, Another Campaign!
What happens if you only install the stuff from Temple or Empire that goes into Data/maps, and the file that goes into Data/campaigns? (Starting from a fresh copy of Lugaru.)

Re: Another "I'm having problems with dialogues" topic
I'm pretty sure that's the behavior of a dialogue with 0 box. So Lugaru isn't loading example.txt or jack.txt or anything at all, just treating the dialogue like an empty dialogue. I don't really know how to fix that since it's a problem with Lugaru and not your dialogue. Different things you could ...

Re: A word about mods (UI)
Wow. This is going to make so many things possible. Small glitch with the slider in the inspector window: if you move the window around, then click the slider, it refuses to acknowledge when you release the mouse button. Even if you don't move the window first, if you move the slider and release the...

Re: Another "I'm having problems with dialogues" topic
String, the way you wrote the command the first time around command was correct. It's "dialogue [number] [textfile]". The wiki has it right. David did say it wrong at one time, but it's an old story and the wiki has been correct since basically forever. Bad BunnyWithStick, confusing people...

Re: About dialogues
No it doesn't need to be in rich text format.
I think Jendraz is right: if you get garbage displayed instead of text, there's probably something wrong with the formatting of your text file. Maybe you should post it here? What happens if you use a dialogue file from the original campaign?

Re: So. Secret Preorder forum, ehh?
If the secret forum drops small tidbits of information from time to time, maybe the occasional scrapped concept art and such, then that would be a cool incentive.
For people in Europe: another incentive. >_>

Re: About dialogues
What do you mean by "opening and rendering"? There's a section about "adding a new dialogue" right below the part you quoted. I think it contains all relevant information.
