[Minecraft] Overgrowth SPF Minecraft Servers

Post by Freshbite » Thu Mar 29, 2012 12:59 am

I have decided to shut the servers down, since they have already outlived their purpose.
If you wish, you can download the maps here:

Creative / Survival

If you came here looking for a Wolfire-Community-based Minecraft server, head on over to Windlord's Thread and join the Minelord Minecraft server (Whitelist). The creative map has been rehosted on this server for you to revisit.

Take care now, bye bye then.

[+] Old Information
Both of the following servers have a whitelist.
Leave a post here with your in-game username, or send me a personal message in order to gain access. I will contact you via PM when you have been added.

  • - Creative Server -

    IP-Adress: 193.11.161.119
    Monsters: None.
    Flying: Allowed.
    Map: Randomly generated. Nothing fancy.

  • - Survival Server -

    IP-Adress: 193.11.161.119:1
    Difficulty: Hard
    Map: Randomly generated. Nothing fancy.

If you want to, you can join the Hamachi-network to set up a permanent IP that will always work, independent on where my computer is being held.

The Hamachi Network ID and Password are as follows:
ID: Freshbite Minecraft (if that network happens to be full, add ":1" or ":2" to the end)
PW: overgrowth

To receive my Hamachi IP, you can right-click my name on the network and click "Copy adress" or "Copy IPv4 adress". The IP you are after should be: 5.154.189.221

Report any sign of griefing to me via a private message either here on the forum or via Skype (contact information below). All actions can be reverted.

Structures that you build in the Creative Server can be moved to the Survival Server. You can use the Creative as a sandbox for your structures before placing them in the Survival.

Feel free to add me as a friend on Skype (leave a message with your Forum-username or I probably won't accept it) to poke me more efficiently whenever the Server is down or if you need a structure-transfer. My Skype-name is "Fleshbite".

The server is generally stable. Certain things (like giant lava towers) will cause lag though, and it's very much appreciated if such lag inducing actions are kept at a minimum.

Creative Map (as of 2012-06-08):
[Rightclick -> Save As...]

I've also gone and implemented open-world dungeons in the survival world.

Raghul is an open-world dungeon in the Survival server.
It has a High difficulty (where Easy is considered to be a standard Monster Dungeon) and contains not only monsters, but a little bit of puzzle-solving aswell. General knowledge of both the Creative and the Survival server is needed in order to solve this.

Don't come unprepared.

Raghul can be found at these coordinates in the Survival world:
X: -169
Y: 88
Z: 365

You can also find it by walking straight forwards about 100 meters from spawn.
(That is, west. North is the direction in which the clouds fly)

Have fun!

Should I add this thread to the OGW agenda or do you want to keep it low profile?

For now, it's probably better to leave this as it is.
Unnecessary escalation might be too much for it.

Thanks anyway.

Has the problem worked itself out since you entered the server yesterday or does it still persist?

The server will be shutdown today while I work some things out. The server was (not-to-unexpectedly) griefed, and I am now working out ways to prevent this in the future.

In the meantime, would you rather continue as we are now, or use the backup created yesterday (about right before we started on the giant circle below Laputa).

You guys have to have a unified decision about this, since other people's stuff will be drawn back aswell.

Darn, I'm sorry to hear that.
If a SPF member did that, shame on him... May he be unwelcome in all Minecraft servers.

While I work on upgrading the server functionality, no one is on the white-list.
I will post here when I'm re-allowing people to join.

Edit: The server has been re-allowed to the public.
A white-list has been implemented and people will now have to be allowed access to the server manually.

Those who want access, leave me a PM or post a message in this thread with your Minecraft name.

Chefsbrian Is also my minecraft username, conveniently enough. I'd be much obliged to build an excessive minecart system in your fine server. :P
