Debug problem

When i change the dubug thing in the text file using the wordpad then save it and go into the game and i try to do something it doesnt work so i go back out to look in the text and the debug is set back to defualt(0 )Is there a way to fix this

maybe try doing *exactly* what it says on the wiki article about debug... it's very simple lol
