Thanks, yeah the tiling can be a pain, thats one of the reasons i sticked with a larger resolution, i can make the tiling less obvious maybe, but only a bit if they must remail seamless,

are you familliar with wang tiling? that would be great if the game supported it, but i think some tiling cannot be avoided unfortunately

its pretty neat, but i dont know yet how to make wang-tileable textures, i always try to use patterns that arent very repetative, but in order to remain seamless tiling is needed, or the alternative, a enormous amount of memory consuming, textures with smart blending, even next gen games such as oblivion sometimes have obvious tiling

Heres a pic of the new snowy tree

Image

when i have Genetica 3.0 studio i can make better branches and noises i guess, but these arent bad in my opinion, i used a heightmap to place the snow so it looks like snow fell from above and got stuck, as real as i can make it :)

I've updated my mod, the skins now also have a depth effect, closer to bumpmaps isnt possible without bumpmapping :)

heres a pic, but its best seen in-game

Image

the mod contains the updated trees and bushes as well, and a better snowflake (no more blue-grey snowflakes as in the mod before this updated one) the sand footstep is better as well, and i antialiased the heightmap so the levels appear a bit smoother in some areas

heres the link to the download,

Have fun!

LOL @ Turner in that picture where he's beside the bush with the hawk in the background. That's the best Turner picture ever.

It's like he's one of those guys like Steve Irwin or David Attenborough or something. "Riiiight, here we have the Circle Hawk, a hawk indigenous to the lavish ecosystem that is our island of Lugaru. It gets its name from the curious way it circles the same area endlessly. Quite the mysterious creature."

very nice :D . i liked the amount of detail that you put into this, i really think you should pm david and ask him to put up a download for the "High-Res" version of Lugaru (aka, this version) on the lugaru game page.

If anyone has a request (for modding textures) i might be in for it, theres little to improve i think, the models could have an update, but thats not really an issue, but an overhaul such as lugary on the moon or something might be fun to make :),

what i personally would like to see is lugaru underwater (but not with rabbits i think, perhaps some Zora kind of creatures like in zelda) you could have more freedom, like up/down, great visuals such as vibrant corals, nice caustics, great combat, and physics (like kicking an enemy so fast to the bottom he bumps into the sand, some clouds of sand come up and a "dent" will be in ther sand and such

would be neat and great fun i think
