He liked the first thing I sent back to him and used it in the game, with some color variations he designed. Meanwhile I continued to develop the texture and make changes that I felt were "improvements". :p
David wanted to stick with the first batch.
Anyways further down the line I made a minor fuss about it, no big deal, I would have liked to have seen the newer textures in the game in some form at least (as "longhaired" rabbit enemies, for example). But Lugaru was and always will be David's brainchild and I respect that. :)
But I thought fans might be interested to see them for yourselves.

I like the newer ones for a generally better attention to detail and less of that "carpet-y" look of the old ones. Give them a whirl and feel free to use them as a basis for your own creations.
